Visitor Visa Status Enquiries
The Australian High Commission Visa Office endeavours to finalise a high percentage of visitor visa applications within our standard processing times. Status enquiries for non-urgent applications divert resources away from processing visas and can cause delays.
Visitor visas will only be given priority if there are exceptional circumstances. The visa office must be fair to all applicants as bringing forward processing of one application disadvantages others who may have equally compelling circumstances.
The Australian High Commission strongly discourages you from making any flight bookings until you have been advised that you have been granted a visa. Making a flight booking will not expedite the finalisation of your visa.
Where a visitor visa applicant requires a medical examination, processing times may vary significantly and can take 6 weeks or more. The visa office will be in contact with you if any further medical tests are required.
